Natural Home Remedies for Teething Babies

Teething is a dreaded experience for new mothers. Chances are you have heard tons of woes from other mothers. This stage is characterized by swollen gums, drool and sudden mood swings. This discomfort is as a result of the teeth cutting their way out of the gums.

This is probably the worst part of parenting for most mothers. Besides crying their lungs out, babies refuse to feed and are grumpy most of the time. In some cases, the baby may keep asking to be fed more often in an attempt to seek comfort.
Discussed below are a few remedies to soothe the baby when teething.

1. Homeopathy
The best remedy should help alleviate the pain fast, lift the baby’s mood, and help them to sleep. 2. Teethers
There are several types of teethers made from different materials. Most mothers prefer the traditional silver teethers to the plastic ones. Teethers are designed to offer some relief during this distressing stage of the baby.

Silver teethers are easy to sterilize and are more hygienic compared to the plastic ones. Other commonly used materials include silicon, wood, and others filled with a liquid or gel. You can maximize the effectiveness of the teethers by freezing it.


3. Massage
gently massaging the baby’s gums will offer some relief. When massaging inflamed gums, ensure that your finger is thoroughly cleaned. Using the pad of the finger, rub the gum in a circular motion. 6. Clove oil

7. Vanilla extract
besides being quite tasty, vanilla is known to have a calming and soothing effect, making it one of the best home remedies for teething.

8. Ginger
Ginger is a great anti-inflammatory. Rubbing a small piece of ginger on the gum helps provide the much-needed relief for the baby.

9. Cool spoon
According to the American Dental Association, you can use a chilled clean steel spoon sooth your baby’s gum.

10. Almond Extract
a mixture of almond extract and water can be used on the gum for pain relief.
